Though looking at Pinterest for inspiration is a great idea, I’d like to propose that you let your family/friends and relationship be what inspires you first! If you need a bit more help and direction after that, then search for inspo by all means! I suggest this not only because it helps make your day that much more personal, but it can also help to drown out the extra noise. Don’t worry about finding the latest floral trends, the color of the year, or whatever dress style was seen at the royal wedding. Those can all distract you from creating the authentic wedding you deserve.

Choose Creatively

When choosing the small details, make them the most personal of all. Let them be sweet and meaningful. You may consider including your written vows, your rings, a family heirloom like a piece of jewelry or handkerchief, or a small stitch or cut of fabric with some significance sewn on the inside of your dress or suit. I will take special care to document them as the important pieces of your day that they are. We have all heard of “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”. This is a classic tool to help you get creative and thoughtful with your choices!

Think about whether a first look is right for the two of you or if you want the traditional first look to be at the aisle. There are also other options like praying together before your ceremony where you can choose to remain out of sight but take comfort in holding hands and calming any nerves just by spend those moments together. Your grand entrance to the ceremony and special dances at the reception are other examples of meaningful moments you can tailor to your celebration.
